What is OLED light?

Does OLED Lighting sounds new for you? OLED (Organic Light Emitting Diodes) are light emitting panels made from organic (carbon based) materials that emit light when electricity is applied. Nowadays, OLED are used to make beautiful and efficient displays, they are widely used in different place. But it is also possible to use the OLED technology to create white light panels for lighting.

OLED no longer just used in display panel, but in lighting since 21 century. An OLED light is a thin film of material that emits light. OLEDs provide an area lighting panel (not point-lighting like LEDs but feature good color temperature. In fact some OLEDs are color tunable. OLEDs can also be made flexible and transparent. And in the future we can expect exciting new luminaire design that use those advanced panels.

OLED lighting - the green light source

Not only OLED light is very efficient (somewhere compare with CFLs and LEDs), but these panels do not contain any bad metals such as mercury, which is present in CFLs. The plastic, organic layers of an OLED panel are thinner, lighter and more flexible than the led panel, no UV, no flickering, no humming, No RF interference. That’s OLED lighting!

Where to using the OLED lighting? Does it hard to install?

The answer is quite easy! OLED lighting panel can replace the existing panel light, it can widely use in different applications, including school, office, supermarket, hotel, residential house and other commercial. As for the installation, it can be pendant. Most people would like pendant mounting because OLED panel is very thin and lighter.
